    • New Stadium Construction Progress: March 6, 2012

    • The new stadium and sports complex being built north of the Chillicothe High School is taking shape. Crews took advantage of the nice weather early on to begin planing the field area smooth. Supports for lighting fixtures are set in the ground, and drawings are currently in the process for the area. Next up will be concrete work. Chillicothe High School Football Coach Phil Willard said on Thursday that he expects the stadium to be completed by August 1, 2012. This includes bleacher seating, field turf, locker rooms, restrooms, concession areas, etc. Chillicothe Education Foundation Treasurer Mike Turner said that the stadium will cost close to $3.5 million to complete. It was originally estimated that the total would be $3 million. Donations through the Education Foundation are paying for the new complex. Turner said that project donations are still being accepted.
