  • RICHMOND — Making up an April 3 postponement, Chillicothe High School’s tennis Hornets claimed a 7-2 victory over the Richmond Spartans yesterday.

  • RICHMOND — Making up an April 3 postponement, Chillicothe High School’s tennis Hornets claimed a 7-2 victory over the Richmond Spartans yesterday.

    Wade Dietz,?CHS’ top player, won a close No. 1 singles set 8-6 and No. 4 player Gabe Poling also won 8-6 to provide the pivotal wins as the Hornets clinched the match by the end of singles play.

    Grant Peterson of CHS shut out his No. 2 singles foe, while Derek?Montgomery was an 8-3 victor at No. 5 and Jeremiah?Applebury took No. 6 singles 8-2.

    Dietz/Poling were 8-4 No. 2 doubles winners and Applebury/Montgom-ery prevailed 8-0 at No. 3.

    The CHS netters (6-2) are to visit Trenton today.
