A 2-day, co-ed basketball clinic for area youths from third-grade age (in 2012-13) through 12th which will feature a couple of current University of Missouri Tigers will be held in?Chillicothe High School’s gym this Thursday and Friday, May 24-25, clinic director David Devaney has announced.
Devaney was the promoter/coordinator of the recent 2012 Barnstorming Tour of former MU players which made a stop in Chillicothe to a large, large turnout.
To adhere to NCAA eligibility regulations, the identities of the Tigers who will come to help Devaney and the rest of the staff with the instructions at the clinic cannot be publicly promoted.
The clinic will be “educational, demanding, and fun,” according to promotional materials. Devaney is a former head coach on both the high school and collegiate levels in Missouri and currently teaches and coaches in the Kansas City area.
The focus will be on developing or enhancing fundamentals of shooting and ballhandling.
The hours of the clinic will be: Grades 3-6 (in 2012-13) – 10 a.m. to 12 noon each day; grades 7-12 – 2-4 p.m. each day.
The fee will be $70 per player; if paying by check, make it payable to Collegiate All-Stars Basketball?Clinic. The fee includes a T-shirt, a basketball, and an autograph session with the clinic’s coaches and instructor players.
Although advance registration is not required, it is sought by organizers in order to get an appropriate number of clinic T-shirts prepared in the needed sizes.
