John and Janet Cramer and family, of Ludlow, were among the 108 families honored during the Missouri State Fair's Farm Family Day last week.

The Cramers were selected as the Livingston Missouri State Fair Farm Family by the Livingston County Extension Council and local Farm Bureau. The family includes children Caitlin and Garrett.

Each year the fair sets aside a day to recognize farm families from across the state who are active in their community, involved in agricultural activities and who participate in local outreach and extension educational programs such as 4-H and FFA.

The Cramer family operates a row crop operation consisting of corn, soybeans, and wheat. They also have livestock consisting of a cow-calf operation.

Kevin Hansen, ag business specialist with the University of Missouri Extension office, stated that this family works hard every day to keep this agriculture industry part of their proud heritage for them and Missouri. John is constantly updating technology to stay ahead of the curve and up to date as the changes in production agriculture occur continually. The family is actively involved within their community and with 4-H and FFA.
