Curtis Allen Shockey, 63, of Centralia, Wash., formerly of Deepwater, Mo., died Sept. 1, 2012.
Curtis Allen Shockey, 63, of Centralia, Wash., formerly of Deepwater, Mo., died Sept. 1, 2012. He was born on Feb. 1, 1949. Curtis joined the Navy at age 17 and rode the ship UFF Urinski until it burned. He was honorably discharged in 1969. He went on to work for the Navy on the docks in California until accepting a job in 1990 with Burlington Northern Railroad until his death. He was preceded in death by his father Raymond Shockey, of Deepwater, Mo., his mother and stepfather, Elaine and Harold Robinson, of Chillicothe, Mo., brother Jerry Don Shockey of Clinton, Mo., and a son, David. Curtis married Amy Bena. To this union, four children were born: sons, Cannon, David, and Nickolas Shockey, and a daughter Dusti Long. Curtis later divorced and married Debbie Vandal, who had two daughters and a son. Among survivors are Debbie, sons Cannon and Nickolas, daughter Dusti, stepchildren Terry, Tracy and Donnie, stepmother Yvonne Shockey, sister Helen Crowder, brother, Sammy Shockey, all of Deepwater, Mo., brother Chester Shockey of Clinton, Mo. The body was cremated. A memorial service will be Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012 in Centralia, Wash., at Sticklin Funeral Chapel.
