The 56th Annual Kiwanis Kids' Day Parade was held this past Saturday (Sept. 15).

The Chillicothe Police Department, assisted by the Missouri Highway Patrol, led the parade. Members from the Chillicothe High School Key Club carried the parade banner, followed by the Chillicothe Middle School Band. Then, fifty-two (52) children, ages pre-kindergarten to eighth grade, dressed in costumes, made their way down Washington Street, followed by the Chillicothe Fire Department Fire Truck.

After the parade, every participant received a small prize and each child and adult were treated to Schwans Ice Cream.

Individual Boys

1st place — Spaceman — William Kieffer;

2nd place — Safari Guy — Donald McCracken;

3rd place — Red Ninja on Bike — Shane Murphy.

Individual Girls

1st place — Dorothy, from the Wizard of Oz — Tessa Hockaday;

2nd place — Rag Doll — Hali Allred;

3rd place — John Deere Girl — Mallory Crawford.

Small Group (2-3 individuals)

1st place — Barn Yard Crew — London Douglas and Halle Gabrielson;

2nd place — The Great Debates — Timmy and Rylan Phillips;

3rd place — Tiny Tim Dog — Abby and Jasper Jones.

Large Group (4 or more Individuals)

1st place — Crawford Coon Hunters — Carson, Carter, Carver and Carven Crawford;

2nd place — Pleasant Grove UMC — Lake Englert, Wesley, Makinlie and Lainie Epperson;

3rd place — Brownie Troop 484 — Serene Wilson, Breanna Pithan, Annsley Christy, Ryleigh Greer, Anna Fisher, Sarah Hall, Aris Suddith, Madison Kieffer, Kelsi Kirkpatrick, Madonna Tennis and Hailee Williams.
