Gilmer B. Gilbert, 96, of Buffalo, Mo., and formerly of Branson, Mo., died Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at the Colonial Springs Care Center, Buffalo, Mo.
Gilbert was born on Nov. 28, 1915, at Gilberttown, Ala., the son of Preston Lee and Callie Gilbert.
He was a farmer in the Chillicothe area for many years, and had been a resident of Branson since 1987, before entering the care center. He was a member of the Church of the Harvest in Branson, Mo.
Gilbert is survived by a daughter, JoAnn Carroll of Halfway, Mo.; two grandchildren, Larry Wilson of Ozark, Mo. and Crystal Lynn Harvey of Bolivar, Mo.; four great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Gilbert; his parents; two brothers; and five sisters.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m., on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, at Greenlawn Funeral Home, Branson, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., Thursday, September 20, 2012, at the Pleasant Hope Cemetery, Pleasant Hope, Mo.
