The Grundy County Sheriff's Department is reporting that a 32-year-old Galt man is dead after a Thursday afternoon shooting at his residence.

On Thursday, Sept. 20, at approximately 1 p.m., the Grundy County Sheriff's office responded to multiple 911 reports of a shooting at the home of Stephanie Miller and Christopher Molloy, 200 North Main St., Galt, Mo.

Upon arrival of authorities from the department, it was learned that 32-year-old Molloy had been shot with a small-caliber handgun. He was found deceased within the residence.

Authorities are not releasing the name of any particular shooting suspect, but did reveal that he a 34-year-old male had been taken to the Grundy County Detention Center, Trenton, Mo., where he is being held while formal charges are being sought against him, pertaining to the incident.

The male in question was take into custody at the scene after he admitted to Grundy County Sheriff Rodney Herring that he had shot Molloy after a disturbance broke out between he, Miller, and the victim.
