Marjorie Rose Lewis, 75, of Chillicothe, Mo., formerly of Morris, Ill., died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe,

Marjorie was born Feb. 15, 1937, in DeKalb, Ill., the daughter of Charles Virgil Byars and Grace Charlotte Coan Byars. She attended school in Illinois.

She was fondly known as "Cricket" to all her friends.

Marjorie worked for many years as a waitress in area restaurants and also worked as a laborer at BRK which made smoke detectors.

About four years ago Marjorie moved to Chillicothe to be near family. She became a member of Soul's Harbor Church of God and was active in church activities such as bake sale goods and hosting out-of-town girls for church functions. She liked to knit and crochet and enjoyed camping and fishing.

Marjorie is survived by four sons, Gary Williams and wife, Tammy of Clarksville, Tenn., Duane Williams and wife, Deanna of Golconda, Ill., Bradley Carder of Aurora, Ill., and Bruce Carder and wife, Tracy of Gallatin, Mo.; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda Mae Jump of West Frankfort, Ill.; nieces and nephews; and special friend Sharon Sanders.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, two brothers, Charles Byars and Ralph Byars; a sister, Shirley "Sis" Krummen.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo.

Burial was at Centenary Cemetery, Gallatin, Mo.
