Ominous thunder rumbled across the Chillicothe area on Wednesday morning (Sept. 26), bringing with it more storm clouds over the horizon. A 40 percent chance of thunderstorms was expected for the day, mostly consisting noise and light, with an accumulated one hour of light rainfall. Earlier in the week, rainfall amounts varied from Monday night into Tuesday morning, with half of an inch reported in the immediate area, and around 1.5 inches reported further into Linn County, to the east. Tomorrow (Thursday, Sept. 27), there is also a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms, likely to occur at approximately 2 p.m., with a 51 percent chance of precipitation associated.
