Charles A. Hein, Jr., 69, of Marshall, Mo., died Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Mar-Saline Manor in Marshall.

Born April 16, 1943, in Phoenix, Ariz., Charles was the son of the late Charles A. Hein, Sr. and Ruth Cook Hein, who survives of Chillicothe.

He was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, attended Trenton Junior College, and then graduated from Missouri Valley College in 1967. He then entered the U.S. Army and served from 1968 to 1971, with two of those years spent in Vietnam.

On Nov. 20, 1971, he married Carol Ewing Moore, who survives of the home. They moved to Marshall, where he was employed at the Missouri Division of Employment Security. He later worked at Wilson Foods, and then at Americold Logistics, as a shipping supervisor. In 2005, he began working in the meat department of Walmart. He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Marshall.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by one son, Chris Hein of Jefferson City, Mo.; one brother, Darrell Hein and wife Kim of Lake Lotawana, Mo.; one sister, Diane Cleary and husband Randy of Odessa, Mo.; an uncle and aunt, John and Barbara Cook of Chillicothe, Mo.; as well as two nieces and two nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at First Baptist Church in Marshall. Burial with military rites will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, at Resthaven Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Chillicothe. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m., Friday, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home, Marshall.
