Chillicothe Municipal Utilities had a crew out Tuesday morning (Oct. 2) filling in concrete at the intersection of Polk and Edgewood streets, on the west side of town, near the middle school. The concrete was used to fill a hole where CMU had previously repaired a water main break in that area, which occurred back on Sept. 5. The reasoning behind the delay in the concrete pour is reported to have been a lack of rainfall at the time sufficient enough to settle the gravel beneath the concrete and prevent cracking in the future surface.
