While dirt work is taking place across the highway and to the north in preparation for the new Hedrick Medical Center, electrical work is taking place on the west side of U.S. Highway 65, near the Chillicothe Country Club Golf Course. Chillicothe Municipal Utilities is upgrading its electrical distribution system to meet the demands of the new hospital. The process also includes replacing a 1964 utility pole. Work started at this site about a week ago and is expected to be completed within the next few days, according to Matt Hopper, CMU electric superintendent. CMU anticipates installing upgrades throughout winter and into spring to prepare for the new hospital, which is scheduled to be opened by early 2014.
