Juanita Brown, 90, a resident of Chillicothe, Mo., died Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe.
Juanita was born the daughter of William and Lula (Collier) Williams on Sept. 5, 1922, in Chillicothe, Mo. She was united in marriage to Charles "Bill" Brown on April 21, 1942, in McMinnville, Tenn. He preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 2011.
Juanita was a member of the Chillicothe VFW Roy L. Burkett Post 858 and the Ladies Auxiliary. She loved traveling, spending time with her family, fishing, and humming birds. She enjoyed playing card games, such as canasta. Juanita also enjoyed doing crossword and word search puzzles.
Survivors include one son, Charles R. Brown, and wife Marilyn, of Ozark, Mo.; three daughters, Linda Harkins, and husband Sherman, of Hale, Mo., Lana McNew, and husband Roy, of Flemington, Mo., Lorna Kester, and husband Don, of Richmond, Mo.; eleven grandchildren; and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles "Bill" Brown; two brothers, Virgil, and Roy; and five sisters, Opal Randall, Eileen Harris, Mary Darr, Elaine Sykes, and Deloris Freeman.
Services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo., on Oct. 12, 2012, at 1 p.m. A family visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, from 6 until 8 p.m. Friends may call the funeral home on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, from 12 noon until 9 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Mo.
