Blake Joiner and the Moberly Spartans football team were firing on all cylinders Friday, and Mexico could not stop them.
Moberly's defense came up with three interceptions - including one by Joiner that he returned 37 yards for a touchdown -and the Spartans extended its winning streak against the Bulldogs to eight as Moberly defeated Mexico 31-8.
Joiner's "Pick 6" in the first quarter was one of three touchdowns he scored while catching the football. The 6 ft. junior also had TD receptions of 27 and 14 yards during the evening.
Also scoring for Moberly (7-2, 5-1 NCMC) was senior Joe Galaske who had a 10-yard TD run, and senior Ricky Webb kicked a 38-yard field goal.
Mexico (1-8, 0-6 NCMC) scored its only touchdown when senior Alex Hall broke free on a 55-yard run against Moberly's jayvee unit with 1:22 left in the game.
