  • Helen Palmer, 100, a resident of Chillicothe, Mo., died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at Morningside Center, Chillicothe.
    Helen was born the daughter of Andrew and Cornelia (Maxwell) Johnson on May 5, 1912, in Callao, Mo. On Jan. 21, 1934, she was united in marriage to Wymond Palmer in Chillicothe. He preceded her in death on Nov. 19, 1989.
    Helen has been a resident in Chillicothe for 79 years and moved here from Callao. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
    She is survived by one son, Charles Wymond Palmer, of Lakeview Terrace, Calif.; six daughters, Barbara "Sue" Rogers, and husband Stan, of Lee's Summit, Mo., Bessie Louise Wilson, and husband James, of Northridge, Calif., Bette Jo Palmer, of Edina, Minn., Judith Bernice Fristoe, and husband James, of Pflugerville, Texas, Jeana Kay McKinzy, and husband Stewart, of Gladstone, Mo., and Vickie Lynn Palmer, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; one brother, Boyd Johnson, of Portland, Ore.; one sister, Bessie Saunders, of Homer, Mich.; 15 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
    She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wymond Palmer; three brothers, Benjamin and Bill Johnson, and Genola Kirby; three sisters, Hallie Wilson Akers, Frances Johnson, and Ann Kirby Young; and one great-grandson, Deven Fristoe.
    Services will be held on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012 at 11 a.m., at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo. There will be a family visitation on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, from 10 until 11 a.m., at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, from 12 noon until 8 p.m.
    Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
