Roughly 465 acres of Missouri land north of Chillicothe was sold at auction for roughly $3.3 million Saturday. Professional auctioneer Dennis Prussman and the United Country – McChristy Realty & Auctions team based out of St. Joseph, Mo., were on-hand to conduct the live event, which was held at the Comfort Inn in Chillicothe and drew upwards of 75 attendees and 20 registered bidders from six states.

This auction offered the roughly 465-acre parcel, 398 of which are tillable, in two separate tracts and brought $7,100 an acre average. As a result of a strategic auction marketing campaign by United Country – McChristy Realty & Auctions, the high bid of the farm nearly doubled the sellers' expectations, company officials said.

"This auction demonstrates that the demand for land remains extremely high in our area, as well as nationwide," said Dennis Prussman, auctioneer with United Country – McChristy Realty & Auctions.
