  • Sharon Buchanan, 65, a resident of Cheshire, Ore., formerly of Chula, Mo., died Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at her residence.
    Sharon was born the daughter of Max and Mae (Sizemore) Keithley on June 25, 1947, in Trenton, Mo. On March 24, 1965, she was united in marriage to Lloyd Drake of Chula, Mo. They then moved to Nebraska, were they had two children. In the summer of 1977, they moved back to Chula, and managed a farm. In 2000, Sharon was diagnosed with breast cancer. On Oct. 7, 2002, Lloyd had a farming accident and was killed. Sharon sold the farm and moved to Chillicothe.
    After traveling around the country, on March 4, 2006, she was united in marriage to Neal Buchanan. She stayed in New Mexico for a winter and then moved to Oregon. In 2007, Sharon was diagnosed with bone cancer, which she fought until her death.
    She was a 1965 Wheeling High School Graduate, Wheeling, Mo. Sharon worked for a school bus company, and then went on to beauty school, and worked in a beauty shop for a while. Sharon bought the Beauty Maid Salon in Chillicothe.
    She was a member of the Eversonville Baptist Church, and then the Highview Baptist Church.
    She is survived by her husband, Neal, of the home; one son, Billy Drake, of Quincy, Ill.; one daughter, Cheryl Shiflett, and husband Todd of Linneus, Mo.; one step-son, Tekoah Buchanan and wife Sherry, of Portland, Ore.; one step-daughter, Shekinah Berger and husband Henry, of Boston, Mass.; one brother, Sonny Keithley, of Avalon, Mo.; one sister, Karon Reed, of Chillicothe; six grandchildren, Samantha Lamp, Amber Lamp, Kelsey Shiflett, Bryan Drake, Joey Drake, and Summer Drake; four step-grandchildren, Pheonix Buchanan, Gavin, Gabriel, and Noah Berger; and several nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Lloyd; one brother, Donnie Keithley; three sisters, Dela Deardorff, Phyllis Laughridge, and Linda Quinn; two sister-in-laws, Mary Keithley and Joyce Keithley; and three brother-in-laws, Robert Reed, Don Deardorff, and Joe Laughridge.
    Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo. There will be a family visitation on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, from 6 until 8 p.m., at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, from 12 noon until 9 p.m.
    Burial will be held at Elmwood Cemetery, Linneus, Mo.
