  • Chillicothe resident Miriam (Midge) S. Campbell, 94, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012

  • Miriam (Midge) S. Campbell, 94, of Chillicothe, Mo., died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at Morningside Center, Chillicothe, under the care of her family and Hedrick Hospice.
    Midge was born Aug. 23, 1918, in Holt County, near Bigelow, Mo., the daughter of William Barton Couts and Eva May Mallon Couts. She married B. Frank Plumb on June 16, 1938, in Mound City, Mo., and they had two children, Carmen and Jerry. Frank preceded her in death on Jan. 10, 1978. On Dec. 26, 1983, Midge married Agell Duane Campbell. They were married by Rev. Bingham at the First Christian Church of Chillicothe, Mo. He survives of the home.
    She was a graduate of Craig High School. For most of her life Midge was a homemaker, but had also worked briefly as a bookkeeper for K-Mart in Quincy, Ill.
    Midge was a member of the First Christian Church of Chillicothe, American Legion Post 25 of Chillicothe, and Order of Eastern Star in Mound City for nearly 65 years.
    She is survived by her husband, Agell, of the home; daughter, Carmen Seckington of Meadville. Mo.; two grandsons, Bret Seckington and wife Kathy of Meadville and Craig Seckington and wife Rita of Bentonville, Ark.; two great grandsons, Jacob Seckington and wife Rebecca of Topeka, Kan., and Dillon Seckington of Meadville; two great granddaughters, Taylor and Lauren Seckington of Bentonville Ark.; great great granddaughter Charlotte Seckington of Topeka Kan.; a stepson, Rev. Duane Campbell of Laredo, Mo.; two step granddaughters; nieces and nephews.
    Midge was preceded in death by her first husband, B. Frank Plumb; a son, Jerry Plumb; three brothers; four sisters; and son-in-law Clifford Seckington.
    A visitation will be held from 1 until 2 p.m., on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe Mo. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Brookfield, Mo.
    Memorials in honor of Midge Campbell may be made to the First Christian Church of Chillicothe, and left at the funeral home or mailed to Heritage Funeral Home, 3141 N. Washington, Chillicothe, MO 64601. Online condolence may be left at www.heritage-becausewecare.com
