Norman C. Thieme, 96, of Chillicothe, Mo., and formerly of Chula, Mo., died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at The Baptist Home, Chillicothe.
Norman was born June 17, 1916, in Chula, Mo., the son of Harry M. Thieme and Helen Elizabeth Ward Thieme. On Sept. 27, 1939, Norman married Louise Dorothy White, and she preceded him in death Jan. 1, 1997. He then married Elva Maxine Mason on Sept. 12, 1998.
He was a graduate of Chula High School.
Norman was a life-long farmer in the Chula area, and was a member of the Chula Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Elva; four children, Jack Thieme and wife Donna of Humphreys Mo., Kay Trevorrow and husband Art of Anaheim, Calif., John Thieme and wife Pam of Chillicothe, and Jim Thieme and wife Stephanie of Chillicothe; six grandchildren, Lori Shiflett and husband James of Meadville, Mo., Rich Thieme and wife Jeanie of Chillicothe, Lin Thieme and wife Ashley of Meadville, Joshua Thieme of Rolla Mo., Hanna Thieme of Chillicothe, and Kaylee Thieme of Chillicothe; eight great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; two sisters, Nina Carr of Trenton, Mo., and Lela Sarris of Ephrata, Wash.; nieces and nephews..
He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Louise Thieme.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe.
Burial will be at Plainview Cemetery, Chula, Mo.
There will be no visitation, but friends may call from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., on Monday and Tuesday.
