The Herdmans are coming to Chillicothe! Who are the Herdmans?? Well… “The Herdmans were the worst kids in the whole history of the world. They lied and stole and smoked cigars, even the girls, and talked dirty and cussed their teachers and took the name of the Lord in vain and set fire to Fred Shoemaker’s old broken down tool house.”
From the beloved children’s book by Barbara Robinson, “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” comes to the Chillicothe High School Gary Dickinson Performing Arts Center on December 6, 7, and 8. Presented by the CHS Players and the CHS Drama Department, this production has a cast and crew of thirty students from freshmen to seniors. A shorter play without intermission, the program will begin each evening at 7:30 p.m.
“The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” follows the story of six horrible kids who get wrapped up in a church Christmas pageant because they’ve heard there are snacks. Initially disgusted by all they see and hear at church, the Herdmans eventually come to love the story about the baby Jesus, Mary and Joseph, the Wise Men, and the Angel of the Lord. This moving story is appropriate for all ages.
Admission to the play is a family-friendly $3 per adult and $2 per student. Children younger than kindergarten will be admitted free. Tickets will be available each evening at the door.
