Warren Harold George, 91, died Tuesday Nov. 27, at his home in Bunceton, Mo.

He was born Jan, 23, 1921, in Sedalia, Mo., the only son of Edgar and Sadie George, both of whom preceded him in death. Warren was married on Feb. 1, 1942, to Mary Frances Layne, who survives him of the home after 71 years of marriage.

He graduated from Boonville High School, with the class of 1938. He attended both MU in Columbia and CMSC in Warrensburg. He was employed for 30 years by the Soil Conservation Service, Department of Interior. During retirement, he and Mary worked for 11 seasons for Hamilton Stores in Yellowstone National Park, in Wyo. When not at the park, they traveled all to 50 states and numerous countries. He enjoyed life on the farm, family, friends, camping, hiking, photography, geneology, and dancing. Warren was a long-time member of the Bunceton Lions Club, Bunceton Federated Church, and Neosho Rotary Club.

He is survived by two sons, two daughters, and their spouses: Larry and Myra George of Sedalia, Gary and Carla George of Neosho, Beverly and Jerry Greever of California, and Penny and Padraic Brady of Cedarcreek. He had 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was preceeded in death by one daughter, Kathy Mitchell.

Memorial services will be held at the Bunceton Federated Church on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012. Warren's family will receive friends and family from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by services at 11 a.m.

A private graveside service will be held by the family later at the Masonic Cemetery in Bunceton, Mo.
