Eldon Hulett, 79, of Cameron, Mo., died Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, in St. Joseph, Mo.
He was born March 14, 1933, in Macon, Mo., to Edward and Ethyl Adelia (Burger) Hulett.
Eldon enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church. His passions included playing the fiddle and hunting when he could, and traveling around the country. As a young man, he developed a love of flying, even holding a license to fly small planes at one time.
Eldon was retired from State Farm Insurance. He started as a claims adjuster in St. Joseph, before moving to Garden City, Kan., where he worked for many years as a fields claim adjuster. He was later transferred to Chillicothe, Mo., where he retired as a senior field claims adjuster.
Eldon was a veteran of the Korean War, serving two years in Okinawa. He attended Pacific Union College in Napa, Calif., where he obtained a bachelor's degree in Social Studies.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn, of 55 years, of the home; three children, Cyndy Lenk of Cameron, Mo., Renée Hulett of Los Angeles, Calif., and Dr. Christopher Hulett of Chillicothe, Mo.; three sisters, Juanita Howe of Dallas, Texas, Delilah Scull of Wilburton, Okla., and Rachael Farr of Stewartsville, Mo.; one brother, Dean Hulett of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and six grandchildren, Jerica, Derek, Emily, Connor, Danette, and Kailey.
Eldon was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Donald, Floyd, and Pearl Hulett; three sisters, Dixie Andries, Lee Lebeck, and Jean Lang; and infant sister, Flora June Hulett.
A memorial and celebration service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Bram-Turner Funeral Home, Stewartsville, Mo., with inurnment at Old School Presbyterian Cemetery, Stewartsville. Online condolences can be made at www.bram-turnerfuneralhome.com.
