Bonnie Sue Horton, 81, of Berryville, Ark., died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, in Berryville.

She was born Nov. 13, 1931, in Clinton, Ark., a daughter of Ernest M. and Ruby R. (Hunnicutt) Smith. On Oct. 21, 1950, she was united in marriage with Doyle "Pete" Horton, Jr., who precedes her in death.

Bonnie's life was devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was an accomplished cook and loved nothing better than hosting family dinners. She was member of the Berryville United Methodist Church. She owned and operated the Horton Five and Dime Store with her husband.

She is survived by two sons, Doyle E. "Pete" and wife Susie Horton, Jr., of Chillicothe, Mo., Gregory Horton of Berryville, Ark.; one daughter, Marilyn and husband Bruce Russell of Green Forest, Ark.; grandchildren, Aleisha and Shannon Newberry, Megan and John Hatfield, Houston Horton, Brooke and Jason Crowe, Justin and Alicia Sizemore, Joey Darby; four great grandchildren; sister, Donna C. Ferguson of Clinton, Ark.; brother, Ernest Smith, Jr., of Clinton, Ark.; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

She was preceded by her husband, Pete, and her parents, Ernest and Ruby Smith.

Memorial service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at the United Methodist Baptist Church, with Pastor Dennis Webb, Pastor Floyd Ray, and Kevin Wieser officiating.
