Base set for telephone line along restructured Route V

The hole at this locale, just east of the Polk and Broadway intersection, is now filled entirely with a concrete base, in preparation for its eventual housing of a self-supporting steel tower for 69 kV transmission line along the restructured Route V. In mid-Nov., the C-T reported crews from Diamond, Mo. first digging the hole, which is 20 feet deep by six feet wide.
