Marie Leppin, 82, of Chillicothe, Mo., formerly of Meadville, Mo., died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at Morningside Center in Chillicothe, Mo.
Lena Marie was born Aug. 24, 1930, in Chillicothe, Mo., the daughter of Allen and Sarah (Allen) Young. On Aug. 21, 1949, she married Donald Leppin, who preceded her in death on Sept. 20, 1980.
Marie had farmed with her husband, Donald, for many years. Following his death, she became a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked at Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield, Mo., and The Baptist Home in Chillicothe, Mo., until her retirement. Following her retirement, she volunteered at local nursing homes. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Meadville.
She is survived by two sons, Larry Leppin and wife Millie, Kansas City, and Dale Leppin and wife, Sherry, Chillicothe, Mo.; four grandchildren, Valerie Gillilan and husband, Mike, Platte City, Sandy Leppin, Tulsa, Okla., Misty Worman and husband, Faron, Chillicothe, and Brandon Leppin and wife, Brenda, Platte City; three step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a twin brother, Merle Young, of Meadville.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at 1:30 p.m., at the United Methodist Church in Meadville, with Pastor Richard Casady officiating. Burial will be in the Meadville Cemetery, Meadville, Mo. Visitation will begin Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at 1 p.m., at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, in Brookfield, Mo., and the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
