  • Betty Elliott, 84, of Brookfield, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at Life Care Center in Brookfield, Mo.
    Betty Jean was born Oct. 25, 1928, in Newtown, daughter of Earle and Opal (Busick) Dillinger. On Oct. 5, 1947, she married Robert Lee Elliott, who preceded her in death April 29, 2009.
    Bob and Betty became residents of Brookfield in 1958. She worked as secretary at First Christian Church in Brookfield for many years, working for five ministers.
    She was a member of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ in Brookfield, where she had served as Deacon and an Elder, was a substitute organist and pianist, was a member of the church choir, and was a member of CWF. She served on the Brookfield Youth Board, Brookfield Library Board for nine years, was a member of the Brookfield Ministries Board, and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, Torch Bearers Eta Chapter in Brookfield for over 50 years.
    She is survived by three sons, Dick Elliott and wife Diane, Wood Heights; Jim Elliott and wife Amy and Jeff Elliott and wife Lori, all of Brookfield, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Elliott, Adam Phillips, Megan Elliott, Jaime Freidrichs, Jennifer Elliott, Matthew Elliott and Ryan Elliott; eight great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jack Dillinger and wife Geta, Columbia.
    She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Virginia Glover.
    A funeral service will be held Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at 11 a.m., at the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ in Brookfield, with Pastor Ron Routledge officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Mo. Visitation will be held Saturday, at 9 a.m., at the church, and the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time.
