The Constitution-Tribune has learned that discussions are taking place regarding the future of the Livingston County Sheriff's department services, including the possible closure of the county jail by the end of this year.
Livingston County officials as well as Chillicothe city officials have been tight-lipped on the issue. On Friday, the sheriff's office announced that a news conference would take place at 3 p.m. tomorrow (Tuesday) in the county commissioner's room at the courthouse, at which time the Sheriff's Office would release information regarding their daily operations.
The Chillicothe City Council is meeting tonight for a regular council meeting. It is believed that discussions regarding the sheriff's department services will take place during an executive session following the regular meeting.
