Douglas W. Carson, 69, of Chillicothe, Mo., died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at his home.
Born Dec. 31, 1942, in Carroll County, Mo., he was the son of the late Ray Douglas Carson and Eula Scott Carson. On Oct. 27, 1961, in Marshall, he married Richie Ann Ahrens, who survives of the home.
He was raised in the Hardeman community, and was a 1961 graduate of Marshall High School. He had lived in Chillicothe since 1973, and was a retired independent farm equipment sales representative. He was a member of Friendship Masonic Lodge No. 89 in Chillicothe, and Chillicothe Elks Lodge No. 656.
In addition to his wife, survivors include one son, Byron Douglas Carson and wife Angie, Huxley, Iowa; one daughter, Vernita Sue Riley and Richard Dowell, Kearney, Mo.; five grandchildren, Brandon Douglas Carson, Ellyn Carson, Ryan Carson, Meggan Carson and Annie Riley; one brother, Gerald Carson, North Kansas City, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Carson; and one grandson, Justin Carson.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Chillicothe. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Malta Bend Cemetery in Malta Bend, Mo.
