As of 10:15 a.m., Thursday morning (Dec. 20), Chillicothe Mayor Chuck Haney has issued a snow ordinance across the City of Chillicothe. During an enacted snow ordinance, citizens are asked to remove their vehicles from along designated snow routes until the ordinance is lifted. All vehicles not moved will be towed by the city, at the owner's expense. Mayor Haney says that he expects the ordinance to be lifted by tomorrow (Friday, Dec. 21), and noted that the current blowing and drifting snow is making it "very difficult" for the City's street crews to keep roads clean. Added Livingston County Sheriff Steve Cox, of today's conditions "The weather and road conditions are very dangerous today. We urge people not to be outside or on the roadways unless it is an emergency. Please stay inside and off the roads. If you have an emergency please call 911 or the nearest law enforcement agency."
