Travel conditions after snowstorm prompt 'Holiday Hoops' changes Friday

TRENTON — Some changes to Friday's (Dec. 21) schedule of games at the North Central Missouri College Foundation's "High School Holiday Hoops" basketball event have been made, specifically affecting one C-T-area school.

Due to weather-related issues, Friday's scheduled 9 and 10:30 a.m. games between Brashear and Gilman City have been moved to the 12 and 1:30 time slots, while the Southwest Livingston games against Grundy County R-5 originally set for those times have been cancelled and will not be made up.

All other Friday games, including the Chillicothe High School Lady Hornets' 7 p.m. contest against Richmond, still were on tap, as of midnight Friday morning," said Steve Maxey of the event committee.

"Safety for the students, staff and volunteers are of major concern and we appreciate everyone's cooperation," he stressed.
