Frances Rhea Catron, 84, a resident of Chillicothe, Mo., died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at her residence.
Frances was born the daughter of John D. and Mary C. (Thompson) Catron on Jan. 15, 1928, in Livingston County, Mo.
She was a 1946 graduate of St. Joseph Academy, Chillicothe, Mo. She went to work as operator for telephone companies in Chillicothe, Los Angeles, and Kansas City from 1946 until 1953. She attended airline school in Dallas, Texas, graduating from Braniff Airway's school in May of 1953. She worked as a flight attendant for Braniff Airways for almost 30 years. She has been based in Kansas City, Denver, and Dallas, as well as flying the Atlantic Military Contracts from 1971 until 1973. International flights she worked included, Dallas to London, Paris, Frankfurt, Honolulu, Guam, Seoul (Korea) and Hong Kong.
She was a member of R.S.V.P and Joy Toys. Frances was a member of St. Columban's Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Mo.
Survivors include three sisters, Grace L. Smith and Helen C. Willard, both of Chillicothe, Mo., and Dorothy M. Raney, Chula, Mo.; one brother, John D. Catron, Hamilton, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary M. Jensen and an infant sister.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Columban's Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Mo., on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at 10 a.m. A Parish Rosary will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo., on Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at 7 p.m. with a family visitation to follow until 9 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo., on Monday from 12 until 9 p.m. Burial will be held at St. Columban's Catholic Cemetery, Chillicothe, Mo.
