This Saturday, Jan. 12, performances of the Missoula Children's Theater production of the musical "Blackbeard the Pirate" will be presented at 3 p.m., and 5:30 p.m. at Gary Dickinson Performing Arts Center in Chillicothe. Sixty local and area students have been cast in the show.

Tickets will be available at the door Saturday. Adult tickets are $6 and student tickets are $3. Children not yet in school will be admitted for free. Chillicothe Area Arts Council season ticket holders will be admitted with their season ticket.

The box office will open at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., and the audience will begin to be seated 30 minutes before the opening of the show. The children's theater production is sponsored by the Chillicothe Area Arts Council through funding from the Roger A. Browning Foundation and the Missouri Arts Council, a state agency.

There were 111 students from 15 towns chosen for the production. Auditions were open to students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Among those auditioning were students from Chillicothe, Trenton, Mooresville, Hale, Tina, Carrollton, Hamilton, Brookfield, Gallatin, Meadville, Polo, Princeton, Kidder, Braymer and Dawn.
