Inez Mae Demers, 91, of Clearwater, Fla., and formerly of Citrus County, Fla., died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013 at her home.
A native of Chillicothe, Mo., she was born on Oct. 23, 1921, the only child to Homer and Hazel (Bowen) Peet.
Her parents were prominent and well known citizens of the Chillicothe community and were the owners of the Skyliner Hotel.
Mrs. Demers had lived in Florida since the 1960's, arriving from the St. Louis area. Inez's professional career in Florida led her to ownership of the Toy Box in St. Petersburg, as well as a secretarial position with Pinellas County Government's Civil Emergency Services Division in Clearwater. While living in Citrus County, she was a real estate agent for Royal Coachman Homes involving the community of Sugarmill Woods in Homosassa.
Mrs. Demers was of the Methodist faith and is survived by her husband of 7 years, Joseph Demers, Clearwater, Fla.; and her daughter Shelley Wine, Largo, Fla.
Graveside service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 at 3 p.p. at Fountains Memorial Park, Homosassa, Fla. Friends will be received at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, Fla., from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
