  • Lawrence Joseph Forck Sr., of Chillicothe, Mo., died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013 at his home in Chillicothe, Mo.
    Lawrence Forck Sr. was born Sept. 7, 1931 in Jefferson City, Mo., the son of Lawrence Emil Forck and Anotia Catherine Evers Forck. Lawrence married Mary Frances Bloss on Oct. 6, 1951. She preceded him in death on Nov. 6, 2002.
    He was a graduate of Westphalia High School, Westphalia, Mo.
    He worked as a route driver for Hostess Baking Company and after retirement worked for Hy-Vee in Chillicothe.
    Larry was a member of the First Christian Church in Chillicothe and in his younger years was in the church softball league. He enjoyed bowling and he was very active in the Little Theater in Chillicothe, where he built many sets, was a property manager and even directed some productions.
    He is survived by a son, Lawrence Forck Jr.; two daughters, Cheryl Wood and Jean Lanahan; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Norma Driskill, Hazelwood, Mo.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Mary.
    There has been a cremation.
    Memorials services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 at the First Christian Church, Chillicothe, Mo. There will be a private burial. There is no scheduled visitation. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 and Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
    In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the First Christian Church and left at the funeral home or mailed to Heritage Funeral Home, 3141 N. Washington, Chillicothe, MO 64601. Online condolences may be left at www.heritage-becausewecare.com.
