Roger Stone, 75, of Meadville, Mo., died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at St. Luke's Northland Hospital, in Kansas City, Mo.

Roger Leon was born March 7, 1937, in Bucklin, Mo., son of Wayne and Gertrude (Jenkins) Stone. On Sept. 18, 1965, he married Anna Louise Tracy.

He had worked as a diesel mechanic for Churchill Truck Lines in Chillicothe, Mo.

Roger was a United States Army veteran, and served in Germany during the Cold War, guarding the Berlin Wall. He also served two years in the Naval Reserve Sea Bee's.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Meadville and the Meadville American Legion. He had also served on the Meadville City Council for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Anna, of the home; one son, Ryan Stone and wife Heather, Meadville, Mo.; two daughters, Debbie Nolan and husband Tim, Marceline, Mo., and Amy Stone, Cameron, Mo.; nine grandchildren, Eric Nolan, Buffalo, Adam Nolan, Seattle, Wash., Andrea Nolan, Columbia, Dalton Stone and Lauren Nichols, both of Cameron, and Will Stone, Aiden Stone, Xavier Stone and Zoee Stone, all of Meadville; two great-grandchildren, Lola Nolan and Drake Nolan, Buffalo; one brother, Marvin Stone, Kansas City; one sister, Nylene Liebhart and husband Leon, Ethel; brother-in-law, Paul Lozuaway, Bucklin; sister-in-law, Frances Stone, Independence; and several nieces, nephews and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gary Stone and Larry Stone; and three sisters, Wilma Stone, Karen Stone, and Norma Lozuaway.

A funeral service will be held Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at 11 a.m., at the First Baptist Church in Meadville, with Rev. Keith Sisney officiating. Burial will be in Botts Cemetery, north of Meadville. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m., on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home in Brookfield, Mo., and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
