Harold "Hal" Marsh, 82, a resident of Brookfield, Mo., died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at Indian Hills, Chillicothe, Mo., with his family by his side.
Harold Lloyd was born the son of Loyd and Viva (Tuttle) Marsh on June 21, 1930, in Lincoln, Neb. In 1951, he married Lois Schooler, and they were the parents of three children: Dennis, Joyce, and Doug.
He grew up in the "Jacksnipe" Township east of Chillicothe, and attended school in the Chillicothe School District.
Harold was the service manager at Kennedy-Ours Motors in Brookfield for many years. After his retirement from Kennedy-Ours, he owned and operated Hal's Bike Shop in Brookfield.
He had attended the Park Baptist Church in Brookfield. He was a member of the YMCA in Brookfield, where he spent many hours visiting with his friends and shooting pool. He had served in the U.S. Army National Guard.
Survivors include his children: Dennis Marsh, Kansas City, Joyce Tucker, Brookfield, Doug Marsh and wife Rene, Farmington, N.Y.; six grandchildren: Annie Perry, Denise Nally, Heather Brothers, Danny Tucker, Jamie Harper, and Nichole Marsh; 15 great grandchildren; one sister, Marie Hinnen, Chillicothe; a sister-in-law, Joy Marsh, Milan; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Mildred Marsh Douglas; two brothers, Wilbur Marsh and Wayne Marsh; and a brother-in-law, John Hinnen.
A funeral service was held today, at 2 p.m., at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, Brookfield, with Pastor David Blakely officiating. Burial was in May Cemetery, near Chula.
