The Chillicothe Street Department's newest fleet member is shown off here — a bucket truck with brand new frontal plow and V-bed system. Said Chillicothe Street Superintendent Barry Arthur, the street department purchased approximately 75 tons of road salt for this winter (50 tons initially [two loads], and another 25-ton load around the time of Chillicothe's most recent snow storm a couple weeks ago). With holdovers included, they currently harbor 80 tons of road salt at the street barn on Mitchell Ave. Arthur said he hopes to replace one CSD plow truck each year that he is here, until the fleet is completely updated from its 1990s models.
