Renee (Brinkley) Shipley, 57, of Milan, Mo., died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013 at the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.
She was born Oct. 4, 1955 to Raymond and Vivian (Weber) Jeckell.
Renee was raised in Early, Iowa where she married Keith Oxendale and to this marriage two daughters were born. She later married Raymond Brinkley of Trenton, Mo., and he preceded her in death. Renee later moved to Milan, Mo., where she married Ellis Shipley. During this time they became the parents of their adopted daughter, Katie.
Renee worked as a police dispatcher and later a police officer in Trenton for several years. She later was employed as a police officer in Chillicothe, Mo., where she was employed for nine years. After moving to Milan she worked as a police officer.
She was a member of the Christ Community Church in Milan. Renee worked with many organizations through the years.
Renee is survived by two daughters, Heather Oxendale, Kirksville, Mo., and Katie Shipley, Grain Valley, Mo.; ten grandchildren; several step grandchildren; one sister, Michele S. Smith, Milan, Mo.; one brother, Tom and wife Kathy Jeckell, Lodi, Wis.; one sister-in-law, Tammy Jeckell, Schallar, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, Vivian (Jeckell) Keuhn, husband, Raymond Brinkley, one daughter, Heidi, two brothers, Timothy Jeckell in infancy, and Rick Jeckell.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 at the Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan. A visitation will be held for one hour before the time of service.
