Brrrrrr. . . . it is frosty outside! We may have managed to skip winter last year, but we are not so lucky this year. Thankfully, there are some fun events in the next couple weeks that will keep the winter doldrums away.
Toast! A celebration of local food and wine will be going on Friday, January 25th from 5:00-8:00PM at Cooper’s Oak Winery. This event features some of my favorite Agri-Missouri products and these folks come with samples- Yum! New this year is musical entertainment provided by Tanner Bechtel. It may be cold outside, but come warm up and Toast the new year with everyone on Friday.
Saturday, January 30th will be Cooper County Historical Society’s annual trivia night. There may be a few teams looking for an extra person. Dinner starts at 6 and trivia starts at 7. Contact Dawn Taylor with questions, 660-888-9438.
Wednesday, January 30th, come warm up with the Annual Kiwanis Chili Supper at Sts. Peter and Paul; lunch served from 11:00-1:00 and dinner is from 4:30-7:00 PM. Warm and tasty chili will be in abundance, so grab your coworkers and support a good cause here in Boonville.
Before you get too full, February 15th is the 11th Annual “Love Notes”. This year features love ups and downs. The night will be full of fun and laughter and desert is included in the ticket price. Grab your valentine and enjoy the local talent. The event is hosted by the River Rats; a group of Boonvillians who love are and love to share art.
What a list of great winter events! This is certainly a sign of a vibrant town- a place that has a great many fun, exciting, and unique activities all year round. I have been to places that seem to shut down in the “off season” and while Boonville is a growing tourism destination, it is nice that our fun doesn’t have a season. Don’t let the cold be a reason to keep you away from all the fun, food, laughter, and company. The winter months are a great time to Play Local, Shop Local and Go Boonville!
