The Chillicothe First Christian Church hosted a freewill donation chili and soup supper, with proceeds going to Operation Help, on Friday evening. Buell Applebury was the main cook behind the scenes, and it was reported that, despite cooking six more pots than last year, he ran out of regular chili with about 15 minutes left to go in the event. He and wife, Judy, promised that next year, they would be sure to up that pot number to provide for all who attend, and apologized for those late-coming patrons who had to partake in the "hot" and "extra hot" chili varieties, instead. The supper raised $2,900 for Operation Help — nearly $1,000 over last year's $1,933.66 total.
