The Way I See It
My name is Dennis Miller and I am a lifelong resident of Kirksville, MO. I have been totally blind since birth and a sports fanatic just as long. I like all sports but love baseball and am a proud lifelong member of Cardinal Nation. It is my honor to be given the opportunity to write a blog for the Kirksville Daily Express and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it.

A busy day unfortunately means a short blog.  It’s hard to concentrate as I try to find an imaginary girlfriend so I can be just like Manti.  By the way, your fifteen minutes of fame are up Manti, please go away now.

The Truman State women’s basketball team had to go two overtimes Saturday afternoon to beat a very good Ft. Hays State team in what was one of the best basketball games I have seen in a while.  I would not be at all surprised to see these two teams matching up again in the MIAA post season tournament.

The Truman State men’s basketball team once again did everything but win as they lost by four points to Ft. Hays State.  This year has not been kind to the Bulldogs and I keep thinking the ball has to start bouncing their way very soon.  This is by no stretch a bad team, in fact they are quite talented but are still young and need an inside presence to put the final piece into the puzzle.  Both Truman State teams are off until Saturday.

The Missouri Tigers finally decided to play a complete game of basketball on Saturday and looked much more like the team they were earlier in the year in easily defeating an overmatched Vanderbilt team.  The Tigers needed a game like Saturday’s victory over Vanderbilt to get their confidence back and prove to themselves they can win without having everyone healthy.  Missouri is next in action on Wednesday.

After having all of last week off the Kirksville High School boys and girls basketball teams get back into action this week with games against Booneville, didn’t we just play them?  The KHS girls head to Booneville on Monday while the boys play Booneville here on Tuesday.  Then Booneville goes away and we can play somebody else.

We’ll be back on Wednesday with our midweek blog which will hopefully be longer than this one.  Thanks as always for supporting all the blogs on this site and feel free to leave any comments.

Have a great Monday!
