The City of Chillicothe has announced the hiring of a new building codes enforcement officer.
Charles (Chuck) Greever, a longtime resident of Chillicothe, was the recommendation of City Administrator Ike Holland to members of the city council earlier this week, and the council unanimously approved the hiring.
Greever has been employed by Liberty Carbon Services in Excelsior Springs, Mo., where he has been a contractor working on special projects and equipment utilities maintenance. Greever also has operated Greever Home Improvement, and has done home inspections.
He is a veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force from 1968 to 1972, where he was a sergeant E-4. He also currently serves as the pastor of the Utica Baptist Church in Utica. Greever is married to Connie Coats, who is a nurse at Hedrick Medical Center, and they have two grown children. His mother-in-law, Mrs. Opal (Wally) Coats, resides in Chillicothe.
Greever replaces Donnie VanDeventer, who resigned recently to accept employment as a codes officer with the city of Trenton. He joins Tammi Venneman in the city codes department, and began work this week.
