"The Healing Oils of the Bible" is the title of a special Lenten program, offered at Lighthouse Chapel in Chillicothe on Saturday, February 23, and open to the public. Many who have heard of Frankincense, Myrrh, Spikenard, and Cassia have never smelled these costly oils, mentioned in history books and Sunday church services. This program will provide the opportunity to experience these precious healing oils and several others, along with information explaining their history, as well as why and how they were used. Treasured for many centuries because of their healing powers, these oils were revered as a gift from God. Medical science is just beginning to rediscover their power, and much laboratory research is currently taking place. This program addresses both the spiritual and the scientific aspects of being "anointed." Adult and Young Adult Sunday school classes in search of a special Lenten Bible study are encouraged to attend. Everyone is encouraged to bring a Bible, but that is not a requirement for admission to this free program. Although this is a program for the whole family, it is 2 hours long; therefore, young children should be accompanied by a responsible adult. Lighthouse Chapel is at 10365 Old Highway 190. The program begins at 2 p.m., with at 10-minute break at 3 PM, then continues until 4 p.m. For more information, contact Pastor McCully at 660.247.3932.
