Kay Friesner, 69, a resident of Meadville, Mo., died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at his home.
Harold Kay, son of Jack and Inez (Balcom) Friesner, was born on Nov. 8, 1943, in Chillicothe. On May 23, 1969, he married Etsuko Funahara.
Kay received his Bachelors Degree at Westminster College in Fulton, and was a Veteran of the US Airforce. He had been the manager of the grain elevator in Cedar City, Wheeling, and Mendon, and a bus driver for the Meadville R-IV School District for many years. He also owned and operated his own greenhouse, and drove a truck for M&S Trucking, in Meadville.
Mr. Friesner was a member of the Meadville United Methodist Church and the Meadville Lion's Club.
Survivors include his wife, Etsuko, of the home; three children: Kristy Timmons and husband, Roe, of Stilwell, Kan., Jack Friesner of St. Louis, and Amy Elliott and husband, Kyle, of Kansas City; one brother, Dee Friesner and wife, Jeannie, of Meadville; five grandchildren: Seth and Christopher Timmons of Stilwell, Kan., and Nathan, Nicolas, and Morgan Elliott of Kansas City; and one uncle, Jerry Friesner, and wife, Christ, of Cullowhee, N.C.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be Saturday, March 2, 2013, at 6 p.m., at the United Methodist Church in Meadville, with Pastor Richard Casady officiating.
