The Chillicothe Street Department cleared large snow piles from along downtown Washington Street walks and curbs today (Wednesday). The Missouri Department of Transportation assisted the Chillicothe Street crew by providing traffic safety measures during the removal process. In all, Chillicothe received 21 total inches of snow from three recent snow storms. Per Mayor Chuck Haney, the street commissioner estimates that around 150 truckloads of snow have already been removed from Chillicothe roadways. It is thought that complete snow removal will take another four to five days.
