Weekend rains and melting snow saturated the ground, having a direct impact on the Grand River at Chillicothe. The river stage Saturday morning was below three feet, according to the National Weather Service; however, by Sunday night, the level had surged to 19.45 feet. The level started to drop, and was below 18 feet this morning (Monday).
Chillicothe received 1.56 inches of rain during the weekend, according the local NWS reporting station.
Several roads in northwest Missouri were closed due to water over the roads, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation. In Livingston County, Routes C and DD were closed at Shoal Creek.
