  • The Chillicothe City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m., in the conference room at City Hall, for a workshop involving a construction update of the new Hedrick Medical Center.
The workshop will precede the regular council meeting at 6:30 p.m., and a public hearing at 6:45 p.m.
The public hearing is part of the budget process, and is held annually to consider distribution of funds from the Capital Improvement Sales Tax Fund for the city’s 2013-14 fiscal year. Among items on the list for consideration are allocations for Chilli Bay Water Park, the bowling center, the airport state block grant for land acquisition, and funds concerning the old prison property. City Administrator Ike Holland stated that the buildings of the old prison site on Third Street have been cleared of hazardous materials, and that testing is now being done addressing issues with underground fuel tanks.
Also on tonight’s agenda will be consideration of bids for fuel, concrete, and mowing services.
Mayor Chuck Haney is expected to make a recommendation to the city’s Planning and Zoning Board.
The city administrator will present the council with an ordinance and contract for consideration with the Greater Area Visitors Bureau, as well as an ordinance and contract with Grand River Entertainment for the use of Shaffer Memorial Park.
Ann Hamilton is on the agenda to discuss preliminary cost estimates for a demolition grant and information regarding the target area for the demolition grant.
