Melissa Dawn Taylor Lopez, 35, of Denver, Colo., died Friday, Feb. 1, 2013 at her residence in Denver.
She was born Oct. 19, 1977 in Kirksville, Mo., the daughter of Robert Henry Taylor and Cynthia Ann Booth Taylor. Melissa married Walter Lopez in Iowa and they later moved to Denver. He survives of the home.
She attended Kirksville Schools.
She enjoyed being a homemaker and had several hobbies such as painting, any type of artwork and especially liked to watch butterflies in the Spring and Summer.
Melissa is survived by her parents, Cynthia Taylor, Trenton, Mo., and Robert Taylor, Idaho; three sons, Damion Woods, Winston, Mo., Devion Keithley, Trenton, Mo., and David Puckett, Trenton, Mo.; a brother, Michael Taylor, Chillicothe, Mo.; a half-sister, Brandy Taylor, Chillicothe, Mo.; grandmother, Venita Jerome, Kirksville, Mo.; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Virgil Taylor.
There has been a cremation.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Heritage Funeral Home in Chillicothe, Mo. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. There will be a private burial.
