  • Richard D. "Dick" Clark, 80, of Jamesport, Mo., died Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the Indian Hills Care Center in Chillicothe, Mo.
    He was born Jan. 14, 1933 in the Poosey Area East of Jamesport, Mo., the son of Heral and Blanche (Gillilan) Clark.
    As a young man, Dick attended the Shelburne Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church.
    Dick joined the United States Army at the age of 19 and served his country in the Korean Conflict during 1953 through 1955. He later worked on the Rock Island Railroad and then at Reed Seeds in Jamesport, Mo. Dick was a member of the graduating class of 1950 of Tri-County High School in Jamesport.
    Dick was a lifelong resident of the Poosey Community until moving to Jamesport in 2011.
    Dick had several teams of pulling ponies and won many contests, bringing home trophies from the Missouri State Fair.
    Dick is survived by three children, Dan (Karen) Clark, Webb City, Mo., Mike (JoEllen) Clark, Chillicothe, Mo., and Sherry (Bobby) Hecker, Chillicothe, Mo.; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Duke Clark, Colcord, Okla.; sisters, Betty Sands, Pottsboro, Texas, Marlene Griffin, Jameson, Mo., and Carolyn Huston, Jamesport, Mo.; 11 nieces and nephews, one aunt and several cousins.
    He was preceded in death by an infant son buried in Goppingen, Germany; his parents; an infant sister, Doris June, his precious sister, Annabelle, who passed away at the age of eleven years and older brother Bill Clark of St. Joseph.
    Memorial Services with Military Rites will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the Roberson Funeral Home, Jamesport, Mo. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Coy-Brummit Cemetery, southeast of Jamesport, Mo. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Cremation has been provided by Roberson Funeral Home, Jamesport, Mo.
